Is WSF a tax-exempt organization?

Yes. WSF is a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization. In other words, we are a non-profit organization, and your donation to WSF is tax deductible to the extent allowed by law. Our tax ID number is: 23-7380557.

Is my donation tax deductible?

Yes, all donations to WSF are tax deductible to the extent allowed by law, as long as no goods or services were exchanged. You will receive an email confirmation immediately after submitting your donation, and this email can serve as a receipt for tax purposes. You will also receive a physical (paper) acknowledgement of your gift through the mail.

How do I include WSFF in my will?

Arranging a planned gift helps WSF face future challenges and grow our programs to provide support to those who need it. There are many ways to include WSF in your will, such as gifts tied to your estate, life income gifts, a charitable lead trust, and naming WSF as a beneficiary of your retirement or insurance plan.

Choosing the right planned gift depends on your personal circumstances and financial goals. Please consult your financial advisor to determine the right option for you. How can I fundraise for WSF?

Thank you for your interest in fundraising for WSF. All across the country, generous individuals raise money for WSF through creative projects, events, campaigns, and programs. How can I donate to WSF through Amazon? How does AmazonSmile work?

Every time you shop with Amazon your purchase could be supporting a young girl participate in sports. AmazonSmile is a program developed by Amazon to automatically donate a portion of your purchase to a charity of your choice, with no additional cost to you. Visit smile.amazon.com each time you shop to ensure your purchase will support WSF. You’ll find the exact same goods and prices—but a portion of the money you spend will be donated to support girls and women participate in sport.

Sign-up for AmazonSmile: Visit smile.amazon.com and search on our tax id (23-7380557)and select WSF as the charitable organization you wish to receive donations from your purchases. Amazon will remember your selection, and every eligible purchase you make at smile.amazon.com will result in a donation. You can continue to shop as you normally would, knowing that your money is going to support WSF’s programs and services.

What is workplace giving?

Many employers offer workplace giving programs that can supplement your gift to WSF. In some cases, a matching gift could double the impact of your gift to WSF. To see if your company will match your gift to WSF, use this Match Search Tool or check with your human resources department to see if your company offers this benefit.

How do I donate to WSF through the Combined Federal Campaign (CFC)?

The Combined Federal Campaign (CFC) is the workplace giving program of the federal government of the United States. Whether you’re a federal civilian, postal service worker, or a member of the military, you can donate through your employer to make a difference for survivors.

During CFC campaign season, you can pledge to support WSF through automatic payroll deductions. WSF is a member of the America’s Best Charities federation, and our CFC organization code is 10488.

Where is my donation receipt?

Online donations: You will receive an email confirmation after submitting your online donation. This email serves as your donation receipt. You can print or save the email as proof of receipt for tax purposes. You will also receive a physical (paper) acknowledgement of your gift through the mail.

Check donations: If you donated by check or other offline means to WSF, you will receive a physical (paper) acknowledgement of your gift through the mail after your donation has been processed.

How can I obtain a refund for my donation?

WSF is able to refund your donation in full or in part, within thirty days of your donation. To do so, please forward the email confirmation you received to developmentgroup@developmentgroup.org. We will issue a refund using your original method of payment and notify you when the refund has been processed. We appreciate your commitment to helping girls and women reach their full potential through sport and hope you’ll continue to support WSF in the future.

How do I update or cancel my monthly donor information?

You can cancel or modify or cancel your monthly donation at any time. If you would like to make a change to your monthly donation or update your personal information, please email developmentgroup@womenssportsfoundation.org or call 646-813-7240.

How do I make a donation in honor of someone?

You can celebrate a loved one, mark a special occasion, or simply remind someone they are on your mind with a special gift to WSF. You can also choose to make tribute gifts by collecting donations for a celebration, like a wedding, or in remembrance of a special person.

Check the box for “This gift is in honor or memory of someone.” on the donate page, located beneath “Would you like to write a comment about your donation” field. You will be prompted to fill in the name of the person you are honoring. You can also add contact information and a personal note so that WSF may notify this person of your special gift. The donation amount will not be specified in the note to your honoree, unless you instruct us otherwise.

How do I make a donation without being added to WSF’s email or mailing list?

Your privacy and security are important to us. While we need your contact information to process a credit card donation, we will honor your request to not contact you, other than to send you a tax receipt for your donation.

How do I make a donation over the phone or by mail?

You can make a donation over the phone Monday through Friday between the hours of 9 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. ET. To do so, please call 646-813-7240.

We do not advise sending cash through the mail, as funds can be lost in transit.

Is my donation secure?

Your security is important to us, and we take every measure to ensure your information is protected. WSF’s donation process complies with the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS). The process is fully encrypted using industry best practices to ensure your personal and credit card information is kept private and secure. We perform frequent scans on our donation systems to ensure that your information is protected against threats.

What are my rights as a donor?

Philanthropy is based on voluntary action for the common good. It is a tradition of giving and sharing that is primary to the quality of life. To assure that philanthropy merits the respect and trust of the general public and that donors and prospective donors can have full confidence in the not-for-profit organizations and causes they are asked to support, we declare that all donors have the rights:

  1. To be informed of the organization’s mission, of the way the organization intends to use donated resources and of its capacity to use donations effectively for their intended purposes.
  2. To be informed of the identity of those serving on the organization’s governing board and to expect the board to exercise prudent judgment in its stewardship responsibilities.
  3. To have access to the organization’s most recent financial statements.
  4. To be assured their gifts will be used for the purposes for which they were given.
  5. To receive appropriate acknowledgement and recognition.
  6. To be assured that information about their donations is handled with respect and with confidentiality to the extent provided by the law.
  7. To expect that all relationships with individuals representing organizations of interest to the donor will be professional in nature.
  8. To be informed whether those seeking donations are volunteers, employees of the organization or hired solicitors.
  9. To have the opportunity for their names to be deleted from mailing lists that an organization may intend to share.
  10. To feel free to ask questions when making a donation and to receive prompt, truthful and forthright answers.
