WSF partnered with Flamingo and Gotham FC to debut our “Built to Move” research during the Queens Classic at Citi Field on July 15, 2026.
Developed by the Women's Sports Foundation in partnership with Flamingo and Gotham FC, this research explores how movement fosters body appreciation and body confidence for women. Drawing on responses from more than 1,500 women ages 22–35, the findings reveal that physical activity is associated with greater body appreciation, improved physical and mental health, and increased feelings of strength, power, and pride in what their bodies can do. Whether it's running, dancing, gardening, walking the dog, or playing a sport, every form of movement has the potential to make a meaningful difference. We hope these findings encourage more women to embrace movement in ways that bring them joy while inspiring communities and organizations to expand access to opportunities that help every woman thrive.
