On June 17, 2026, the Women’s Sports Foundation submitted a letter to the Senate Commerce Committee urging revisions to the “Protect College Sports Act of 2026” (PCSA), cautioning that the bill requires additional clarity and improvement to safeguard opportunities for women’s and Olympic sports.
In a formal letter to Chairman Cruz and Ranking Member Cantwell, WSF urged lawmakers to strengthen the legislation to ensure:
- Participation opportunities in women’s and men’s Olympic sports are protected
- Public, transparent data on NIL deals and revenue share payments, disaggregated by sex
- The promotion of and investment in women’s sports
While WSF appreciates Congress’ efforts to stabilize the evolving college sports ecosystem, the Foundation emphasizes that federal legislation must keep gender equity and existing federal law at the forefront. Read our full letter here.
