Women’s Sports Foundation Announces New Board of Trustees Members

Executives From AT&T, Citi and Yahoo Join Mission to
Advance Women’s Equality Through Sports

 

New York, NY (June 19, 2017) — The Women’s Sports Foundation (WSF)—the leading authority on the participation of women and girls in sports—has elected three new members to its board. Joining the WSF Board of Trustees are Fiona Carter, Joan Haffenreffer and Kathy Kayse.

“All three of our newest members bring strong leadership and deep experience in philanthropy, mentorship and business, as well as a passion for sports and commitment to girls’ and women’s health, diversity and gender equality. We are excited to have their talent and perspective on the Women’s Sports Foundation Board,” says Dr. Deborah Antoine, CEO of the Women’s Sports Foundation.

Fiona Carter is Chief Brand Officer for AT&T, a global leader in the rapidly converging telecommunications, media and technology space. She oversees global brand marketing, advertising, media and sponsorships, as well as the integration of brand leadership into the company’s business strategies. Fiona leads AT&T’s participation in the Association of National Advertisers Alliance for Family Entertainment’s #SeeHer campaign to improve how girls and women are portrayed in the media. Fiona is a longtime agency executive, having worked at Omnicom’s BBDO, AT&T’s lead agency, for 11 years. As the managing director, she oversaw accounts for Bank of America, General Electric and Procter & Gamble until departing in 2014. Fiona also served in the role of Chief Operating Officer at Omnicom’s Diversified Agency Services network.

Joan Haffenreffer is Managing Director & Chief Administrative Officer of Global Public Affairs at Citigroup. In this capacity, Joan manages corporate business initiatives and the Group’s talent development program, staffing, governance and budget.  Joan manages Citi’s Global Corporate Philanthropy and assists a broad range of NYC charities and not-for-profit corporations in their development and growth strategies.  Joan serves as Vice Chair of Graham Windham, New York City’s oldest child welfare agency. She is also a member of the Women’s Forum of New York, The Apollo Theatre Development Committee and the Women’s Leadership Council of the Lincoln Center Corporate Fund. In her free time, Joan plays competitive league tennis.

Kathy Kayse is the Vice President of Sales Strategy and Solutions at Yahoo. A seasoned industry leader, Kathy has extensive advertising and strategy experience. Prior to joining Yahoo, she served as Executive Vice President of Advertising Sales at Oprah Winfrey Network (OWN) for 5 years where she led the advertising sales effort for the successful launch of the cable network in 2009. Previously, Kathy spent 24 years at Time Warner, including as Executive Vice President of Advertising Sales at AOL. Kathy currently serves on the Board of Directors for the New York Advertising Club and is a member of She Runs It (Advertising Women of New York).
