On September 28, 2026, the U.S. Senate passed the Protect College Sports Act (PCSA). As we have indicated throughout this Congressional session, bringing stability to the college sports ecosystem is an important goal, yet WSF has concerns about the potential consequences of the PCSA, both intended and unintended, as it relates to gender equity and broad-based sports offerings in this country. As the bill advances to the House of Representatives, WSF will continue to advocate for the inclusion of additional Title IX and broad-based sports protections to ensure that all student-athletes retain access to sports participation and the lifelong benefits which it provides.
