Take Gatorade and the WSF's BECOME Pledge to encourage young athletes, Support WSF
Kicking off at the BlogHer11 Conference today, our national sponsor The Gatorade Company® is calling upon supporters to make a pledge encouraging young athletes in their quest to BECOME. For each pledge, Gatorade will make a donation to the Women’s Sports Foundation.
The BECOME campaign showcases the emotional bond formed between moms and their aspiring athletes through the experiences and sacrifices that come with a commitment to excellence. The BECOME video series and parent resources are featured on
Gatorade.com/moms. Gatorade will donate $1, up to $10,000, to the Women’s Sports Foundation for every pledge received. Simply read the pledge, click to commit and Gatorade will donate a dollar in support of girls’ and women’s sports. “Now more than ever, sports, nutrition and health education programs are needed to lay the foundation for healthy girls and boys for generations to come,” said Kathryn Olson, CEO of Women’s Sports Foundation. “We encourage every mom to take the pledge to help ensure there are opportunities for all children who want to get physically active, get involved in competitive athletics and get in the game.”
Sarah Robb O’Hagan, WSF Trustee and president of Gatorade North America and global chief marketing officer for PepsiCo sports nutrition, will unveil the BECOME campaign’s newest webisode at BlogHer11. The webisode features Loreane Tomlinson, mother of NFL player LaDainian Tomlinson.
