1. Meaningful Mission

The Women’s Sports Foundation advances the lives of women and girls through sports and physical activity.

2. Well-managed Team

The Foundation has received numerous honors and awards for its work, including the International Olympic Committee’s Women and Sport Trophy in 2000, the first time the award was given; the Charity Navigator four-star review and the United Nations Consultative Status to the Economic and Social Council. The Foundation is the only non-governmental sport organization in the world to receive such designation, which permits Foundation representatives to attend United Nations meetings.

3. Transparency

The Women’s Sports Foundation Annual Report and GoGirlGo! community year-end reports are distributed annually and available to the public. Our reports include a full detailing of financial figures and program achievements. Over the past decade, the Foundation has spent on average more than 80 cents of every dollar on programming support for girls and women in sports and physical activity and less than 20 cents on fundraising and administration costs.

Our partnerships provide multiple philanthropic and cause marketing opportunities. Our marketing team can customize sponsorship programs to obtain a perfect match with your company objectives. From Run/Walks, Athlete Clinics and Black-tie Galas to Research Funding and Grant-making, we offer a diverse range of national and local opportunities.

We created the GoGirlGo! program to build healthy, active and confident girls. GogirlGo! is a national program with demonstration communities in Atlanta, Boston, Chicago, New York and Seattle. This national education and grant program reaches more than 100,000 girls annually.

Annual Salute to Women in Sports
An annual New York City benefit gala and media event that gathers Olympic and champion female athletes together with media, celebrities in film and television, and corporate and civic elite to celebrate the achievements of women in sports and showcase the best individual and team performances of the year.

Travel & Training Fund

The Travel & Training Fund provides direct financial assistance to aspiring athletes with successful competitive records who have the potential to achieve even higher performance levels and rankings.  Assistance is provided for coaching, specialized training, equipment, attire and/or travel.

The Foundation has a rich history as the leading authority in women’s sports. Media, governmental agencies, corporate America and advertising agencies turn to us for the most current data and analysis. We conduct research projects covering issues surrounding women’s athletics, trends in girls’ participation, gender equity and the long-term physical and mental health benefits of an active life.

Gift and Service In-kind Support
