The Women’s Sports Foundation Releases Survey Findings on Attitudes Towards Title IX on 45th Anniversary of the Landmark Legislation

New York, NY (June 15, 2017) – This June 23rd marks the 45th anniversary of Title IX, when Congress proclaimed that “No person in the United States shall, on the basis of sex, be excluded from participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be subjected to discrimination under any education program or activity receiving Federal financial assistance.” Since then, the number of girls participating in sports has increased from one in twenty-seven to two in five.
