How Can You Help Keep Her in the Game?

Since Billie Jean King launched the Women’s Sports Foundation in 1974, we have gained great insight to both the benefits and the barriers in getting girls active. Our research has helped us show that girls who are physically active are more likely to be healthy and confident – and less likely to participate in unhealthy behaviors including smoking, drug use, gang participation, even delinquency and truancy. Girls also perform better academically when they are physically active than when they are sedentary.

Bottom line: sports help girls in all aspects of their lives, which is why it’s so important to keep every girl in the game.
