Katrina Adams Named Chairman, CEO and President of the United States Tennis Association

The United States Tennis Association (USTA) has announced today the appointment of Katrina Adams as its Chairman of the Board and President. Adams, who has served as the USTA’s First Vice President since 2013, becomes the first African-American and the first former professional tennis player to lead the organization.

38th Anniversary of the Battle of the Sexes: Where were you when…..

On Sept. 20, 1973, before a crowd of more than 30,000 at the Houston Astrodome, WSF Founder Billie Jean King beat Bobby Riggs 6-4, 6-3, 6-3 in a match dubbed “The Battle of the Sexes.” Played just a year after the passage of “Title IX,” an amendment to the Civil Rights Act of 1964, the match helped legitimize women’s athletics and encouraged girls to take up sports. Yesterday was the 38th anniversary of the Battle of the Sexes and, to honor the occasion, we asked our fans on Facebook to share their memories of the momentous event. The best comments follow:
