Katrina Adams Named Chairman, CEO and President of the United States Tennis Association

The United States Tennis Association (USTA) has announced today the appointment of Katrina Adams as its Chairman of the Board and President. Adams, who has served as the USTA’s First Vice President since 2013, becomes the first African-American and the first former professional tennis player to lead the organization.

The "Original 9"

In the 1970 Italian Open, WSF Founder Billie Jean King was the women's singles champion; she received $600 in prize money. That may be considered a generous amount in 1970, but the men's singles champion Ilie Nastase received $3,500--almost six times the amount of prize money King earned. Fair? We think not.
