About GoGirlGo! Atlanta

The first of our communities, GoGirlGo! Atlanta is dedicated to closing the gap between Atlanta girls and the rest of the country.

About Us

Atlanta, Georgia, a shining beacon of the New South, where modern ideas meet timeless tradition and classic protocol. And while things have certainly advanced quickly in Atlanta, our girls are not always one of them. Research shows that DeKalb County and Georgia's girls are below the national average on nine out of 16 health indicators including nutrition, teen pregnancy and sport team participation. GoGirlGo! Atlanta is here to help set that right.

GoGirlGo! Atlanta was launched November 15, 2004. As the first of the demonstration communities, GoGirlGo! Atlanta has built a network of close to 400 community organizations dedicated to getting Atlanta girls, ages 8-18, moving and physically active.
