NEW YORK  – The Women’s Sports Foundation today released the most accurate description of college sports’ participation patterns to date — Who’s Playing College Sports? Money, Race and Gender. The report demonstrates that all available data shows increases in both men’s and women’s sports participation over the last 25 years. However, participation trends differ substantially by sport. The report examines a broad range of factors impacting these patterns including the most frequently discussed: Title IX and rapid expenditure growth.
