The State of Women's Sports: 36 Years After Title IX

On June 23, 1972, Congress passed Title IX, a monumental decision which outlawed discrimination based on sex in any education program or activity receiving federal funding. This presentation examines how the world of women’s sports has changed since Title IX was first passed.

Go Out and Play: Youth Sports in America, A Summary of Key Findings

This study tracks and analyzes the nationwide participation rates of girls and boys in exercise and organized team sports. The central focus is on how the intersections among sport, family, school characteristics and wider social forces influence children’s involvement and interest in athletics and physical activity.
