Legendary track & field athlete Wilma Rudolph overcame childhood polio and paralysis to become a three-time Olympic gold medalist. To honor her, WSF presents the Wilma Rudolph Courage Award to an athlete who exhibits extraordinary courage in her athletic performance, demonstrates the ability to overcome adversity and serves as an inspiration to others.
