In 2007, the Women’s Sports Foundation awarded more than $700,000 in grant and scholarships to 139 organizations and 14,224 individuals across 30 states. Our programs provide girls and women with educational materials and scholarships, research on leadership development and opportunities to participate in sports and physical activity.

More Than 3,000 Girls Benefit from GoGirlGo! Grants The Women’s Sports Foundation’s top grant-making priority to date is giving grants to help get (and keep) girls physically active. A total of $155,000 was distributed to organizations and schools serving more than 3,000 girls between the ages of 8 and 13 in 2007. These organizations and schools have agreed to implement the GoGirlGo! educational program and provide opportunities for girls to play sports and engage in physical activity. RYKA Grants New Jersey Women Improved HealthJoan Cleffi has been married for 54 years and has four children. in 2001, she was diagnosed with osteopenia, a precursor of osteoporosis. Luckily, Cleffi found Nancy Hess, the director of RSVP of Morris, Sussex and Warren Counties, sponsored by Northwest Jersey Community Action Program (NORWESCAP), Inc. The Northwest Jersey Community Action Program, a Women’s Sports Foundation grantee, serves more than 30,000 people every year. 2008 Dorothy Harris Endowed Scholarship Winners AnnouncedEvery year the Women's Sports Foundation awards up to $3,000 to two females pursuing a doctorate or master's degree in Physical Education, Sport Management, Sport Psychology or Sport Sociology. Each applicant is evaluated based on her career goals, grade point average, financial need, research studies and sport participation and/or influence.
