Boxing
For hundreds of years, boxing has been a sport reserved for males. Today, the iron curtain has crashed to the floor and women are now allowed into the ring. The first Women's National Boxing Championship was held in 1997, and women have continued to make their mark in the history books. Professional and amateur boxers undergo rigorous physical and mental training in order to compete at the highest levels. Fighters jab, punch and throw hooks and uppercuts, while dodging their opponents in a dance around a ring. A winner is determined by a knockout(when a fighter is knocked down and doesn't get back up before within the official's count) or on the basis of judges' scoring.
