Biathlon
Biathlon demands a wide breadth of talent precision, endurance, mental and physical agility is just the beginning. Strap a rifle to your bike and click your ski boots into their bindings and the competition has begun. Though the image portrayed may sound like another episode of the television series Survivor, biathlon is a competitive, heart pounding sporting event. The competitor skis over a designated course, with their rifle strapped into a harness and stops periodically to take a shot at randomly placed targets. The competitor may choose to stand and shoot or perform a ground crawl to be more in line with the target. Although primarily exercised in the winter, summer biathlon is gaining popularity.
