Auto Racing
What professional sport attracts the highest number of spectators annually? Baseball, America's favorite past time? How about football? Guess again. It's auto racing! Auto racing is just what it sounds like, but at a level of intensity one is sure to never understand, unless you've done it. Auto racing involves a number of events where specially designed racecars drive at speeds from 80 to over 200 mph around a track surrounded by screaming fans. The lap lengths vary, as do the look and performance of the cars. Some cars look like long wedges of cheese with parachutes flying off the back, and are built to race a short, straight distance. Others just look like your cousin Vinny's souped-up Camaro and are built for longer races. Some events take up to 24 hours and cover 2500 miles, while others last five seconds on a quarter of a mile of track. Do you have the need for speed?
