USA Gymnastics announces final Beijing roster

Four more gymnasts and three replacement athletes were added to the women’s gymnastics roster for Beijing on Friday in Huntsville, Texas. Chellsie Memmel, Samantha Peszek, Alicia Sacramone and Bridget Sloan all earned bids after a grueling qualifying process that culminated in a selection camp at the Women’s National Team Training Center in Texas. Jana Bieger, Ivana Hong and Corrie Lothrop were chosen as replacement athletes and will take the spot of any injured gymnasts in Beijing. These gymnasts join trials champ Shawn Johnson and world champion Nastia Liukin on the Olympic roster. Both women received an automatic spot on the team after their performances at last month’s Olympic Team Trials in Philadelphia.
