Diane Williams/ Climbing

Diane Williams is a Special Olympian and nationally recognized mountain climber. Williams successfully climbed the 19,340-foot peak of Mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania this year in her second attempt. Williams' first attempt to climb the mountain ended when the worst storm in 72 years hit Mount Kilimanjaro and Williams' group was forced to turn around. Williams, who is hearing impaired, was a three-sport Special Olympian in floor hockey, basketball and volleyball. She is a mother of two and currently resides in Sage, California. Williams has been featured on "The Saturday Early Show" on CBS and a documentary of the 2007 Mount Kilimanjaro climb is being produced. (04/07)
