Nicole Teter is a national-class 800m runner since winning the U.S. Junior championship in 1991 in the 800m and winning the silver medal at the Junior Pan American Games. Teter has enjoyed a competitive renaissance since returning to competition in 2000. She won her first national title in 2002 at the U.S. Indoor 800m championship with an American record time of 1:58.71. She added the outdoor 800m title as well. She placed fourth in the 800m at the USA Outdoor Championships (2:02.83), posting a personal best 800m time in 2001. This was especially true for her move from the 800m to the mile in 2002. In her mile debut, Teter ran a world-leading time of 4:32.71 en route to winning the Adidas Midwest Indoor Track Classic. Teter is the merchandising manager for Copeland's Sporting Goods and is working towards a degree in physical education. She plans to continue her running career for the next six years, and her goal is to participate in the next two Olympic Games. (10/03)
