Taurasi is currently the youngest member of the U.S. Olympic basketball team. As a senior at the University of Connecticut, the guard/forward led the Huskies to their third straight national championship while averaging 16.5 points, 3.9 rebounds and 3.6 assists. Taurasi was named the 2004 Final Four Most Outstanding Player. She won the Naismith and Honda Awards as the nation's top collegiate player and is the fifth athlete in history to be named the Naismith Player of the Year twice. Her other accolades include the Kodak/WBCA All-American first-team and the No.1 pick in the WNBA draft. Taurasi is averaging 17.7 points (fourth in the league), 4.1 rebounds and 3.8 assists (11th) per game with the Phoenix Mercury. In July, Taurasi won ESPY Awards for Best Female Athlete and Best Female College Athlete.
