Stacy Sunny set a franchise record in the 1996 season with a 16-game hitting streak. She hit safely in 21 of her last 23 games and started at third base in 44 of 50 games. Sunny played catcher and third base for the Colorado Silver Bullets' 1994 inaugural season, and led the team in games played, at-bats, runs, hits, doubles, triples, and runs batted in (RBI).
In 1995, Sunny continued her success as a leader in hitting and RBIs. Sunny has missed only four of the 140 games the Silver Bullets have played in the team's three-year history earning her the title of the Cal Ripken of women's baseball. A 1995 Women's Sports Foundation® Team Sportswoman of the Year nominee, Sunny is a former member of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division I Softball All-Decade Team. As a softball player, she was named NCAA All-America as a center fielder for the Nebraska Cornhuskers in 1995.
In 1988, she helped lead national champion University of California-Los Angeles (UCLA) in the NCAA College World Series with a .311 batting average. She is also a freelance television and film producer and assistant director. (10/96)
