Siren Sundby/ Sailing

Sundby has been No. 1 on the International Sailing Federation (ISAF) World Sailing Rankings for Olympic Classes, single-handed dinghy women since August 2003. In September 2003, Sundby won the ISAF World Championships in Cadiz, Spain. She won the 2003 World Championship in the Europe class with a race to spare and sat in a medal position from the outset. She was also voted the female ISAF Rolex World Sailor of the Year in 2003. Sundby continued her dominance in April 2004, with victories at the XXXV Princess Sofia Trophy in Palma de Mallorca, Spain, and ISAF Grade 1 Semaine Olympique Français in Hyeres, France. In May 2004, Sundby also won the ISAF Grade 1 SPA Regatta in Medemblik, Netherlands. In July she won Europe Class Open Week followed by the Europe Class World Championship in Cagliari, Italy and will be representing Norway at the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens, Greece.
