Katrina McClain/ Basketball

As a co-captain, helped to lead the U.S. Olympic Basketball team to its gold medal finish at the 1996Olympic Games. McClain started all eight games in the Olympic series and led the team in field goal percentage (.739), rebounds (8.3), and was second in points (14.1). This was McClain's third Olympic appearance; in 1992 she took home a bronze medal and in 1988 she won her first Olympic gold.

McClain, a member of the 1994 USA World Championship Team which captured a bronze medal, averaged a team high 14.6 points per game and 11.1 rebounds per game. She was then named to the five-member World Championship All-Tournament Team. McClain was a member of the 1991 USA Pan American Games team which earned the bronze medal. During this tournament she averaged 15.3 points and a team-high 8.8 rebounds per game.

During her four seasons at the University of Georgia (1984-87), her teams compiled a 116-15 record, made four National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Tournament appearances, won two Southeastern Conference (SEC) titles (in 1984 and 1986), and was runner-up for the 1985 NCAA crown. She is one of only three University of Georgia women basketball players to have her jersey number (#32) retired. She is a seven-year overseas veteran and will play her eighth season this year in Turkey. (10/96)
