Tynesha Lewis/ Basketball

Tynesha Rashaun Lewis was born on May 8, 1979 in her hometown of Macclesfield, NC. The younger of two children, Tynesha always stood out as one who did things her way.  While under the shadow of her oldest brother Mandrake, she decided to stake a name for herself at the age of 5 by engaging in the sport of basketball.  Not only did this successful attempt of grasping some attention for her succeed, it put her on a platform of achievement and excellence in the world of women’s sports as well as in academics.
Tynesha flourished in high school as the student body president, graduating in the top 10% of her class with a 4.0 GPA, and other accolades that included National Honor Society, Pepsi Scholar Athlete, MVP four consecutive years, Principle Leadership award, and many more.  She continued to develop and thrive with an outstanding collegiate career.

As the # 1 ranked female high school basketball player in the state of N.C. from 1995-1997, she was heavily recruited by every major college in the U.S.  Her heart led her to blossom and mature under the beloved and astute eye of Coach Kay Yow at N.C. State University. She continued to excel in the classroom while in college as well as on the court, helping to lead the Lady Wolf pack to their first Final Four appearance her freshman year as a starting guard in 1998.  Tynesha was named most outstanding Female Athlete, and is the 1st player in N.C. State University history to record a triple double.  During her four years in college Ty also received many community service awards and recognition. She also served as president of the Mu Omicron, chapter of The Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.  Tynesha earned her BA in Chemistry and BS in Biology, with a Masters in Business Administration focused in Marketing to come later.

Her performance on the court did not go unnoticed as she was drafted by the Houston Comets in 2001 making her one of the most dangerous guards in the WNBA.  Ty enjoyed 6 exciting years in the league with 3 teams, playing the game she loved dearly as a young girl.  That experience allowed her the opportunity to continue to give back to her community, hometown and church in ways that she had always dreamed of. In August 2003, she founded Itsdoable.org, a non profit organization designed to provide leadership as well as academic and motivational support services for the community.

Tynesha officially retired from the WNBA in January 2007.  She then served for over a year as a successful pharmaceutical sales representative for one of the worlds major pharmaceutical companies. But she would soon leave to live out her destiny of teaching and reaching young people across the world through her words of wisdom, encouragement, and motivation at a level that meets people where they are.  As a result of this vision, January 2008 marked the birth of Tynesha R. Lewis.,LLC.   T.R.L. is an awesome and dynamic ministry with one mission, to redeem and restore the present and next generations so that they can live fulfilled and abundant lives. Preacher, leader, and evangelist.  Without question, Tynesha is a breathtakingly beautiful Woman of God with an elegant stature that commands authority and exudes a quiet confidence. Indeed, her words captivate the hardest to reach.
