Biathlon
Joan Guetschow captured the gold in the first U.S. Olympic trials for biathlon in 1992 and has been a member of the U.S. Biathlon Team since 1989, competing in both the 1992 and 1994 Olympic Winter Games. Guetschow, a recipient of a Women's Sports Foundation Travel & Training grant, won the 1992 National Biathlon Championships.
