Annett Buckner Davis/ Beach Volleyball

Annett Buckner Davis is ranked second in the Federation Internationale de Volleyball (FIVB) World Player Rankings. She and teammate Jennifer Johnson Jordan were members of the 2000 U.S. Olympic Beach Volleyball Team and are the second-ranked team in the world and the top-ranked team in the United States. Davis and Jordan placed second at the 1999 Association of Volleyball Professionals (AVP) Grand Slam in Florida and first at the Beach Volleyball World Series tournament in California. In 1998, Davis and Jordan won their first international tournament at the FIVB Portugal Open and took second place at the World Championships and the FIVB China Open.

During the 1998 FIVB World Tour, Davis' team placed ninth in competitions in Brazil and 13th in Portugal. During the 1997 Women's Beach Volleyball League (WBVL) season, her Team Nike finished in first place. Her four-woman team also won the first-ever Beach Volleyball World Championships at the University of California - Los Angeles (UCLA). As a collegiate player at UCLA, Davis set a school record with 638 kills in a season, earning PAC-10 Player of the Year honors, and won an NCAA championship in 1991. (10/00)
