Ruthie Bolton-Holifield was a member of the gold medal winning 1994 USA Goodwill Games Team, where she averaged 11.8 points per game, 6.0 rebounds per game, 1.5 assists per game, and shot .526 percent from 3-point (10-19). As a member of the bronze winning 1994 USA Women's World Championship Team, she averaged 9.3 points per game, and 3.1 rebounds per game. Bolton-Holifield was also the second leading scorer (14.3 points per game) on the 1993 USA Women's World Championship Qualifying Team. In 1992, she participated in the USA Olympic Basketball Trials and was selected as one of 18 finalists.
Bolton-Holifield played in Italy in 1994-95 and 1993-94 for Erreti Faenza where she averaged 25.5 points per game and 6.0 rebounds per game in 1995 and 28 points per game and 7.1 rebounds per game in 1994. During the 1992-93 season, she played with the C.A. Fainzia in Italy and averaged 26 points per game. In 1991-92, Bolton-Holifield became the first American woman to play professionally in Hungary and in 1990-91 played in Sweden. During her four seasons (1986-89) at Auburn, she compiled a 119-13 record, made four National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Tournament appearances, finished as the NCAA runner-up twice (1989, 1988) and won three Southeastern Conference (SEC) championships. Bolton-Holifield is a member of the WNBA's Sacramento Monarchs and was recently named to the 1998 USA Women's World Chmpionship Team. (4/98)
