Lynda Barnes, one of the world’s leading female Tenpin bowlers, is a five-time World Tenpin Bowling Association (WTBA) Women’s World Championships medalist, a 12-time WTBA American Zone Championships medalist, a two-time United States Bowling Congress Queens champion, and a World Bowling Writers Hall of Fame member (2007). At the 2007 women’s world championships with Team USA, she won two silver medals (team, trios) and one bronze (doubles). Barnes was also a semifinalist at the 2007 U.S. Women’s Open. In 2005, she was named the 2005 World Bowling Writers Bowler of the Year. With Team USA that year, Barnes won two silver medals (team and all-events) and two bronze (masters and doubles) at the WTBA Women’s World Championships and earned three gold medals (team, all-events and doubles), one silver (singles) and one bronze (masters) at the American Zone Championships. She is the U.S. amateur champion (1995, 2005 and 2007), a QubicaAMF World Cup champion (2005), and the Women’s International Bowling Congress Tournament doubles champion (1998 and 2004).
