Uphill Battle
A campaign called WomenCan promotes and is currently fighting for the inclusion for both women’s flatwater and slalom canoe in the Olympic Games. Though some progress has been made, such as adding slalom as an event to women’s canoe in the 2010 World Championships, much work remains to get women canoers into the Olympics.
