Meet the GoGirlGo! Chicago Staff




Valerie Bushey, GoGirlGo! Chicago Director

Valerie formerly served in key leadership positions with the Department of Defense, the Chicago Park District and the National Educational Service. She obtained her Master’s degree from Indiana University in Sports Management and her Bachelor’s degree in Physical Education from Augustana College.

Valerie is the contact person for Foundations, corporations and individuals interested in supporting GoGirlGo! Chicago.

Regina Rizzo, GoGirlGo! Chicago Coordinator

Regina E. Rizzo has a B.A. in Sociology and Spanish from North Park University and her work history includes: working with the Chicago Park District, being a Physical Education Teacher and Director of After School Program for grammar schools, case managing low and high risk gang members and pregnant women, and most recently working as Supervisor of a city-wide Tenants Rights Hotline and Volunteers.

Regina is the contact person for all girl-serving organizations.

Teresa Herrera, GoGirlGo! Chicago Administrative Assistant

Teresa has a B.S. in Interior Design from Southern Illinois University-Carbondale and minored in Spanish as well. She is the contact person for general GoGirlGo! inquiries and volunteer opportunities. She can be reached at THerrera@WomensSportsFoundation.org.

Jenna Litherland, GoGirlGo! Chicago Grants Intern

Jenna is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Arts degree at Columbia College in Chicago and is origionally from Edmond, Oklahoma. From the time she turned three she has been very active in all types of sports and physical activity, especially tumbling and cheerleading which she would like to coach. Jeffrey MacDonald, Physical Activity and Technical Assistance Intern

Jeffrey is working on his B.S. in Recreation and Leisure Services from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. In addition to this internship, he is a physical instructor for the Chicago Park District and is IHSA certified to umpire any level of baseball up to high school.

Hilary Chadwick, Grantee Relations Intern

Hilary is pursuing her bachelor's degree from Lehigh University in English and international relations with a minor in Spanish. While studying abroad this year, she completed a research project on teenage mothers outside Buenos Aires, Argentina, and received a yoga certificate from the University of Hyderabad, India.

Tammy L. McBeth, Fundraising Intern

Tammy is working towards her B.A. in economics and a minor in Spanish from Gettysburg College. She currently plays Ultimate Frisbee for Gettysburg and holds a first-degree black belt in taekwondo. Tammy is also a research assistant for the Gettysburg College Economics Department.

Tatiana McKinney, Media & PR Intern

Tatiana is pursuing a degree in communications with double minors in Spanish and leadership and public service at the University of Missouri-Columbia. She plans to pursue a career in public relations in New York. In addition to GoGirlGo! Chicago, Tatiana also interns at Telemundo/NBC Chicago 5.

Amber Crew, GoGirlGo! Chicago Intern (Mayor’s Summer Jobs Program)

Amber is a senior at Carl Schurz High School. She strongly believes that it is important for girls to be active and should be given equal opportunity in sports. Amber wants to assist schools and park districts provide more opportunities for young girls.

Jounica M. Daoud, GoGirlGo! Chicago Intern (Mayor’s Summer Jobs Program)

Jounica is the Digital Multi-Media and Visual Intern and is a senior at Von Steuben High School. She plays on and manages her school's varsity softball team. Jounica hopes to use her experience to prepare her in a future career in computer technology.

Wynona Tucker, GoGirlGo! Chicago Intern (CIMC)

Wynona is currently a freshman in high school and will be attending a Native American boarding school. During her internship, she will be assisting the administrative assistant and working on outreach.
