GoGirlGo! Week, September 22 - 26, 2008

Join GoGirlGo! Boston in its first annual GoGirlGo! Week

GoGirlGo! Week is a citywide campaign to increase community awareness for programs that help inactive girls and their families experience physical activity in a safe and fun environment. GoGirlGo! Boston is asking community leaders like yourselves to open your doors or host an event aimed at engaging more girls in your area. We'll provide all the support that you need--completely free--in the spirit of drawing community interest to your organization.

WHEN: September 22 - 26, 2008

WHERE: A location of your choice (your organization, a park or athletic facility, etc.)

HOW: Think of a fun activity for girls to engage in, or decide to open your doors and let girls and parents learn about your organization. GoGirlGo! Boston will provide support for your effort by:

  • Publicizing through our Web site and media partners
  • Furnishing Open House materials such as posters, banners and GoGirlGo! Open House CDs
  • Providing volunteer aide or speakers of interest for your event
  • Creating goodie bags full of prizes to be handed out at your event
  • Providing guidelines and ideas for events

PARTICIPANTS: Organizations must complete an online Registration Form. Then GoGirlGo! Boston will add your event to our online calendar and send your organization an open house kit that includes:

  • A 3’x 5’ banner to advertise your event
  • A CD containing templates for personalized promotional flyers, sample lessons, participant certificate templates, ice breakers, stickers and more. Use these to promote your event or for Open-House day fun.
  • GoGirlGo brochures and helpful suggestions for the flow of your event.

VOLUNTEERS: We’re seeking motivated volunteers who want to make a big impact on Boston girls. Commit to as little as one event or day…or an entire week of events! Contact us to discover how you can involve yourself with Boston organizations during GoGirlGo! Week by speaking about your athletic experiences as a girl, taking photographs, handing out goodie bags, or simply joining the fun as a representative of GoGirlGo! Boston. We provide both volunteer and community service certification.

EVENTS: We've got lots of venues already scheduled for Open House events. Read on or see our Events page that has detailed listings of the upcoming events.
