Annual Salute to Women in Sports

On October 15th, join us along with more than 100 champion female athletes from all over the world to celebrate the achievements of today's athletes and build a future for the athletes of tomorrow at the nation's premiere sports awards dinner.

Every year the women's sports and fitness community pays tribute to champion female athletes at the Women's Sports Foundation Annual Salute to Women in Sports Awards Dinner.

The highlight of the evening is the awards ceremony and announcement of the Sportswomen of the Year. The event also features the induction of new members into the International Women's Sports Hall of Fame and the presentations of the Billie Jean King Contribution Award and the Wilma Rudolph Courage Award. This annual Foundation black-tie benefit is held at the world-famous Waldorf=Astoria Hotel in New York City.

Prior to the Awards Dinner, the Foundation hosts girls' sports clinics in numerous sports with champion female athletes. Approximately 250 girls participate. The clinics are held at the Field House and the Chelsea Equestrian Center at Chelsea Piers in Manhattan.

Each year, the Women's Sports Foundation identifies girl-serving organizations and schools and invites them to select their best and brightest student-athletes to participate in the program. The Foundation provides the criteria that the organizations must follow in selecting their student-athletes. These high school seniors sit on the second tier at the Waldorf=Astoria for the Dinner and the Awards Program. The Foundation also arranges a special autograph signing session for the student-athletes with several of the top female athletes.
