SuperWomen Traveling Exhibit

The SuperWomen Exhibit Tour pays tribute to the joy, athleticism, strength, diversity and artistry of women in sports. The beauty and power of female athletes is captured through a mosaic of portraits and personal triumphs in the book SuperWomen: 100 Women–100 Sports by Jodi Buren, released by the Women's Sports Foundation and Bulfinch.

Buren's work has appeared in Sports Illustrated, Life, Time and The New York Times. The SuperWomen Exhibit features champion athletes Tamika Catchings, Dominique Dawes, Lisa Fernandez, Janet Guthrie, Sarah Hughes, Jackie Joyner-Kersee, Billie Jean King, Aimee Mullins, Dara Torres and many more in sports from adventure racing to wrestling.

The book has come to life through the 40 color photos – 30 x 40 inches – featured in the SuperWomen exhibit. The exhibit opened at the Museum of Science and Industry in Chicago, Ill., and has toured Los Angeles, Calif., Phoenix, Ariz., Indianapolis, Ind., and Charlotte, N.C. The Women's Sports Foundation held receptions in Los Angeles and Chicago, which included speakers such as Billie Jean King and Julie Foudy as well as book signings and appearances by local GoGirlGo! grantees. It has also been on display in Boston, Massachusetts, at The Boston Children's Museum. Most recently, the Tour was displayed at ESPN Headquarters in Bristol, CT.

The Women's Sports Foundation SuperWomen Exhibit Tour is available for display in 2009. To request the exhibit, click here.
