Women's Sports Foundation Gets a New Look

Published: May 9, 2008

Many exciting changes have taken place at the Women's Sports Foundation with the appointment of new Chief Executive Officer Karen Durkin and the opening of the Billie Jean King International Women's Sports Center. Concurrently, the Foundation has introduced the public to a new logo and completely redesigned web site.

At April's 3rd Annual Billies Awards program in Los Angeles, Women's Sports Foundation President Aimee Mullins unveiled our new logo on the stage of the Beverly Hilton Hotel, where hours later Sir Elton John performed for 700 guests of The Billies Awards. The Awards are presented for excellence in media and entertainment coverage of women in sports.

The beginning of May brought the launch of a new, user-friendly Women's Sports Foundation website, timed to coincide with the opening of the Billie Jean King International Women's Sports Center, located in downtown Manhattan within the Sports Museum of America. The new WomensSportsFoundation.org provides visitors with a unique portal of research and advocacy reports, a database of news and events related to women's sports and tips and tools on how to become an advocate for change.
